Kerana RM1

(Edisi Ke-2)

Alhamdulillah, sungguh murah rezeki kalian. Semoga hidup anda semua makin diberkati oleh Allah Swt.

Sebenarnya aku ingin berkongsi satu cerita. Perlahan-lahan dia berkata kepadaku, "Kak...nak duit seringgit." Aku terdiam sejenak. Peminta sedekah kah budak ini? Hati kecilku tertanya-tanya. "Nak duit seringgit, buat apa dik?" Aku cuba menyiasat lebih lanjut.
"Nak beli aiskrim." jawabnya ringkas.

Aku meraba-raba dompet di dalam beg. Ingin kuberi rm1 tetapi hatiku terasa berat. "Adik tinggal kat mana?" tanyaku lagi. "Blok C." jawabnya sambil memandangku dengan gaya penuh mengharap. Aku masih berfikir-fikir dan mula bertanya diri sendiri. Mengapa minta duit pada org tak kenal? Mana mak dan ayah adik? Mengapa sungguh berani meminta-minta. Takde rasa malu?

Akak cakap kat dia, akak takda duit! Pergi balik. Bukannya dia takde mak bapak. Minta la kat mak bapak sendiri."

Aku terdiam.
Salahkah aku memberinya duit?

Semoga Tuhan merahmati.

hmm...maybe next time you should just shoo that boy away. He will keep coming back for more if you treat him nicely. ~sigh~ hope that he wud grow up to be a good boy someday.

Sugar Lips,
you are definitely right! i failed to educate him in a right way. (My fault, my fault...)

Well, I beg to differ from that of Sugar Lips. I think it is no harm in giving, coz the more you give, the more u get. What you gave is a form of sedekah in Islam and only Allah knows how many rewards that you get from giving. So giving is fine, Syakira. You don't have to feel guilty of giving. And plus, that little boy is only a kid, he doesn't really know what is good+bad+right+wrong just yet, even though his parents do tell him not to 'meminta'...He is your little neighbour so buying ice cream for a little kid once in a blue moon is super cute!!! it is a sign of generosity..mana lah tahu kalau keluarga budak kecil itu tidak berkemampuan jadi terpaksa berjimat. boleh jadi budak itu kempunan sebab sudah lama benar dia tidak merasai kesejukan dan nikmat ais kerim...lebih2 lagi pada cuaca panas begini...so don't be sceptical in giving dear.U just made one soul happy that day..and that is a noble act in Islam. that's my take. =)

Maybe if he show up again
You should ask again properly
Even deeper
Why he asked you RM1

hehe just if that happened to me, I think I would ask the boy to show me his house and bring me to his parents so that i can get to know the family background better.

Sometimes a strong desire will give a courage for someone to do anything. I don't know, what drive this kid to ask you for money but it is better than if his desire will drive he to become a thief. At least he is honest with you. If you sincere with the RM 1, please don't regret it because it would diminish your good deed to him. Maybe it part of Allah test for you. Just pray for the boy to become a good boy in the future. Whose know the boy also pray for your success in the future. :)

Lina,
i understand u really well that i'm definitely sure that you will do the same thing like what i did, dear. You are right, giving is indeed a great value one should consider regardless of knowing how much reward u gain from God. I was thinking of asking him 2take me 2see his parents too. Plus, i know how much you love kids =)

But maybe we should realize our generousity should be channelled to the right and needy person.

Khair Nairfan,
U r right in giving that suggestion to investigate deeper.

Niezam,
Rm1 is just a little amount of money and any of us can donate it 2anyone. But the person who receives must value it properly. I just hope i'm not teaching him to cheat his parents!

Old Dwarf,
i'm not sure about the children beggars at butterworth bus station but there are many at padang kota which sometimes annoyed me.

Yeah,
if only we could do something 2prevent poverty to help these kids but i'm afraid some are abeing used in a "sindiket" and are forced to serve for it. Just like the movie, Oliver Twist.

haha
my block is next to yours there,so ive experienced it before.
i dont know where he learns to do that.

but everytime when i return from class,or outing with waie, din & syahir,he would come up to us and ask for "singgit" too.

Dont bother that kid.at first, its cute, but then it gets annoying.
